Vocal forward, with a little bit of rock, a taste of country, a dash of bluegrass, and some harmonies that just might knock your socks off and leave you in a daze.”

SALMON DAZE IS A MUSICAL COLLECTIVE HAILING FROM WESTERN COLORADO'S ROARING FORK VALLEY.

Their sound reflects a constantly evolving combination of Americana, Classic rock, Bluegrass, and Country Influences. Whether performing as a duo, trio, or as a full band, they are known for their powerful vocal harmonies and high energy arrangements of crowd pleasing covers. Their set also includes an ever-expanding collection of original songs as they prepare to record and release their forthcoming debut album.

Founding members Sam Weiser and Daisy Mayer met as ski instructors at Snowmass mountain and became fast friends, bonding over a love of powder days, road trips, and espresso martinis. One fateful evening, while chasing a storm system with friends to the San Juans, the duo stumbled upon a guitar graciously left in the corner of that over-packed Airbnb. Some chords were strummed, some lines were sung, and a few precious moments of harmony threatened to blow the roof off that house. It was clear to everyone in witness that cold snowy February evening that there was music to be made. When the snow melted that spring the duo went their separate ways, each wandering down the road in search of a little slice of something they couldn’t put words to. The next winter season, teaming up with a rotating arrangement of local players, Salmon Daze booked a handful of shows entertaining bar crowds and covering everything from Tyler Chiders and Sierra Ferrell to early aughts pop-punk anthems like Stacy's Mom.

After a brief hiatus for a summer spent Commercial Sockeye Salmon Fishing in Bristol Bay, Salmon Daze is back performing and working on a collection of songs to record as part of their forthcoming debut album. An updated lineup now includes a second guitar and third voice courtesy of “Let's be Leonard” founding member Karl Bertrand and Doug Weiser (Sam's dad) on drums.

As seasons change and people move in and out of this transient little valley we call home, Salmon Daze continues to do what they love most: Making the kind of music that they would want to sit back and listen to themselves. Inspiration from their favorite rock, bluegrass, and americana artists past and present inform a constantly evolving sound that's harmony heavy, high energy, and leaves a smile on their faces long after the playing’s done.

Happy listening.
